All crewmembers are required to participate in crew training exercises, behave according to the Code of Conduct and adhere to mission guidelines as established by the instructors during the two-week expedition. Going beyond basic scientific, engineering, practical mechanical, first aid and wilderness skills, all crewmembers must possess a strong and mature work ethic and be comfortable working in an environment that can at times be less than ideal.
Crewmembers may be taking their vacation time from work or school to participate in the expedition; however, crewmembers must not treat this expedition as a vacation, or use that as an excuse to disagree with work schedules and undermine decisions made by mission organizers.
Determination, hard work and an easygoing nature are all qualities that will contribute to a successful expedition. In addition, all crewmembers must be capable of “finding something constructive to do” when not otherwise contributing to the expedition – respect for the work of your fellow crewmembers includes actively finding tasks to help out with during slower periods in the crew's day so that everyone can enjoy down time equally. All crewmembers will be required to file EVA reports and assist with updating the website with mission data.
