Article 5: Live Meetings
Section 1: Live Meeting
Definitions
Live
meetings may be called at any time to accelerate resolution of issues before the
council. All such meetings must be scheduled outside of normal work hours in
the US and Canada. By live meetings, this section includes both face to face
meetings, conference calls, and online meetings using IRC, ICQ,
video-conferencing, or similar technology, but specifically excludes E-mail and
other delayed technology. In general, these will be conducted in some form of
electronic mass communication. A motion must be passed to hold such a meeting
at any time other than the Mars Society annual convention.
There will
be two types of live meetings - routine and emergency. Routine meetings are
called simply to accelerate the council's progress. Emergency meetings may be
called whenever conditions imposed outside of the council dictate a response in
less than two weeks.
