This time Mars conjunction runs from November 18 to December 24. The five active Mars spacecraft (and the scientists and engineers who operate them) are getting a five-week break from the daily grind of operations. The two Rovers will still be observing passively but not roving. The three orbiters will hibernate until contact with Earth can be restablished.

Saturday
December 6, 2008
"Reach for the Stars" at the Sally Ride Science Festival at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) campus.
