Loss and Endeavor
Thoughts on the Loss of the Columbia

I feel we should launch as scheduled next month. The station needs what she needs and we need to have the mentality akin to the military. Helicopters & jets crash no matter how safety conscious and careful we are. There will be death, we know this. Congress needs to be told this over & over, the votes are in their hands. We can't let them repeat their mistakes of the past. Our future depends on our space
program. Without it we will stagnate & die.

My heart goes out to the families & friends of those we've lost, but I will not call for manned space flights to stop, in fact, there should be more!

China has always been an iffy country, we never know what's in their minds. Now that they're kicking their space program into high gear, we must do the same. They're mind set is different from ours. Nuclear weapons in space, they wouldn't bat an eye at the thought. Also, Japan's going to beat us to mining asteroids, if we don't get off our asses.

We've got to fight for what we want. We've got to get into the governments face and not shut up about it, it seems to be the only time they listen to us. We need to organize floats in parades, posters, billboards, all we can do we must do. I know you know this already, but, I wanted to let you know we are here, we believe and we will fight to keep and improve our space program. God knows if I won the lottery, I'd be devoting money to it, (personally the loss of the DCX to me, is a
crying shame). For now, my words, letters and voice are all I can give. If I had a car I'd be able to help out at booths & such. Perhaps at the next MileHi Con, if you're there, my husband & I can help. I thank you for all you've done & continue to do. Our hopes hang on such organizations as yours. Bless you!

Can we be.
