The Toronto Chapter of the Mars Society sponsors lectures by prominent space/Mars Society personalities, open to the public. This page contains archive material from the previous lectures, such as announcements and press releases; transcripts are provided where possible, as well as reports from events that the Chapter has run or attended.

Our members have presented the Mars Society and our Chapter to the interested public on several other occasions.

In January 1999, Margarita Marinova introduced the Toronto space community to the Mars Society milieu at the Canadian Space Society meeting for that month at the University of Toronto - the seed event for our Chapter.

On Friday, October 8, 1999, Jeff Cadieux and Vesna Nikolic were invited to speak to the Hamilton Amateur Astronomers Club and contended with a crowd hostile and questioning of the Mars Society and human expansion at the Hamilton Spectator Auditorium - a classic Toronto/Hamilton rivalry.

On Wednesday, March 8, 2000, Raakesh Persaud and Darlene Lim, Chapter representatives, preached to SEDS, the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, at York University.

NASA Astrobiologist Dr. Chris McKay lecture (March 31, 1999)

Dr. Christian Sallaberger lecture (June 10, 1999)
