- PROJECT STATUS REPORTS -
Mars Society San Diego Rovers: The radio-controlled San Diego Mars
Society Rover took a beating at the
"SALLY RIDE SCIENCE
FESTIVAL". Patrick will be doing some needed maintenance work on it.
Gerry purchased a Lego Mars Exploration
Rover model kit of the Spirit/Opportunity rovers. It's a static display that will complement
our homemade radio-controlled model.
Mars Society San Diego Mars Suit: The suit was used most recently
at the "SALLY RIDE SCIENCE
FESTIVAL". We suffered a broken hangar that Tim will fix or replace. Tim will also work on
bands to shorten one suit and on building a communications module chest-pack for both.
Public Relations: This is a slow time of the year for PR so
nothing was reported.
Display Board: No work reported on the second display board.
Website: Jesse agreed to update the website's Suggested Reading
list. Any suggested revisions should be forwarded to him.
The URL MarsSanDiego.org is still down, but
The mars Society - San Diego is working.
- MISCELLANEOUS -
Jeff turned over our P.O. Box key to Dave.
We decided on a denim shirt for our new embroidered shirts. We also agreed on the new chapter
logo. We gave our requests to Tim to order shirts. Anyone who wants a shirt should contact Tim
with size and quantity information.
Mission Support 2005: We discussed whether to do
MDRS Mission Support for a month again.
It is unknown whether any San Diego members will participate as crew this season.
We will be looking into starting another lecture series at local libraries for 2005.
John's simulator project was deemed to be too large and complex a project for our chapter to
undertake.
We watched the trailer for the upcoming documentary about Robert Zubrin,
"The Mars Underground".
