Article 1: Chapter's
Council's Purpose
Section 2: Functions Of
The Chapter's Council
The following functions were proposed by the Provisional
Member's Council. Future functions may be added by the Chapter's Council after
further discussion.
1) Enhance communication between all of the groups
within the Mars Society.
2)The council will as part of its communication
function:
a) advise the Steering
Committee and the Board of Directors about member's concerns
b) provide a voice for the chapters to the Steering Committee
and the board
3) The council will assist in nominating
candidates for any member elected positions which become available on the
Steering Committee or Board of Directors.
4) Serve as a general chapter's self help organization
through the exchange of ideas and resources.
5) Help new chapters get started.
6) Help chapters with organizational issues.
7) Help members become more active at the hapter and/or
national level if they so desire.
8) Adjudicate disputes within and between chapters.
9) Insure propagation of useful experience between
chapters.
10) To make sure that chapters are mobilized to support
national or international campaigns and projects initiated by the Steering
Committee and the Board.
