Chair

Function: Serve as the communication link between the council and the board of directors. He will also serve as the "chairman" in any live meetings to assure they are conducted by the council's rules of order.


Backup: Vice-chair

Vice-chair

Function: Serve as the Chair's backup. Backup: None but more than one vice-executive may be elected to serve during alternate time periods.

Secretary(ies) of the agenda

Function: Updates the status of motions and votes as their status changes. Backup: More than one Secretary of the agenda may be elected to serve during alternate time periods.

Secretary(ies) of documentation

Function: Updates the rules of order and other official documents of the council as related motions are passed.


Backup: More than one Secretary of the documentation may be elected to serve during alternate time periods.

Secretary(ies) of voting

Function: Manage the voting pages for both the council and member input. Backup: More than one Secretary of voting may be elected to serve during alternate time periods.

Secretary(ies) of communication

Function: Keeps the Mars Society members updated on council activities. Backup: More than one Secretary of communication may be elected to serve during alternate time periods.

Secretary of the treasury

Function: Keeps track of any funds the Chapter's council has. This officer has no spending authority without approval of the council as a whole.


Backup: Executive or Vice-chair.

Ombudsman

Function: Serves as the person to be notified in the event motions of no confidence are desired to be submitted confidentially. He will also serve as the arbitrator in the event questions over the interpretation of E-mail rules arise.


Backup: More than one ombudsman may be elected to serve during alternate time periods.
