Future Projects
We plan to build a total of three greenhouse segments at
MDRS and one at UMD - College Park. Two of the MDRS segments will be used to
house bioreactors for treating and polishing wastewater, and one will be
dedicated to life support research projects sponsored by Society or other life support
research programs.
At present, two segments - the original MDRS segment and the
UMD - College Park segement, are funded. An opportunity thus exists for
chapters to raise funds for new segments, or to assist with obtaining parts or
constructing new segments at the station.
