eastern sky at sunset and will be very visible for the rest of the year. |

Caplinger from Malin Space Science Systems (senior scientist for the Mars Orbital Camera /
Mars Global Surveyor spacecraft currently at Mars); Kage Baker,
author of "The Empress of Mars"; Rick Sternbach, senior illustrator
for "Star Treks TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Nemesis"; astronomer Rica Sirbaugh
French; editor Jeff Berkwits of "Amazing Stories" magazine;
and Gerry Williams, publisher of the
THE MARS MOVIE GUIDE.com. The panel was moderated by

HORIZONS offered lots of answers and opportunities for girls from all over San Diego County
at an all-day program at UCSD. Workshops from Archeology to Zoology enabled hands-on explorations
in science, mathematics, and technology. Girls had the chance to talk with others who share
their interests studying in science and technology as mentors for the whole day.
TMS-SD members will lead three sessions on
Mars Exploration with the
San Diego Mars Rover.
